What Is Winstrol and Why Do People Take Winstrol?

0

Winstrol, also referred to as “Winny,” is the name of an artificial (man-made) steroid hormone called stanozolol (stan-oh-zo-lol).

I’ll ask it as Winstrol for the remainder of this text , as that’s what it’s typically called.

It’s most frequently sold in pill form, which usually looks something like this:

oral winstrol pills

(Winstrol is produced during a sort of lab round the world, therefore the pills often are available in different shapes, sizes, and colours .)

Winstrol also comes as an injectable liquid, although most users choose the pill form.

Winstrol was invented in 1962 when chemists at Winthrop Laboratories modified a naturally produced steroid referred to as dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

DHT is an androgen hormone, meaning it promotes male characteristics like increased body and facial hair, deepening of the voice, and sebum (skin oil) production. It also reduces follicle growth on the scalp, and is taken into account as a serious cause behind male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia).

To create Winstrol, chemists modified the DHT molecule in order that it might produce stronger muscle-building effects, with fewer masculinizing side effects. You’ll learn more about how they did this and why it matters during a moment.

Winstrol was briefly approved for human use within the 60s to treat a spread of conditions like osteoporosis, muscle loss, and growth insufficiency in children.

Over subsequent few decades, though, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) curtailed the list of approved uses for Winstrol, until it had been only legally prescribed for a couple of rare conditions.

Luckily for several high-level athletes, this meant that Winstrol was still being professionally produced at a time when most other anabolic steroids are outright banned. this is often one of the explanations this drug became so popular within the eighties and nineties among athletes like Ben Johnson.

Winstrol is technically still approved for a couple of medical conditions, but no pharmaceutical companies within the US have produced it since 2003.

There are still a couple of companies that produce stanozolol in Europe marketed under the name Stromba, but much of the Winstrol within the U.S. comes from private labs or individuals “cooking” their own steroids in places like Mexico or Thailand.

Winstrol has also been given to animals for several different reasons, most famously to racehorses as how to enhance their performance. (Horses run faster on steroids, too.)

Summary: Winstrol is the name for the synthetic steroid hormone stanozolol, which was created by modifying the present steroid DHT to extend its muscle-building properties and reduce its masculinizing side effects.

Why Do People Take Winstrol?

The primary reasons people take Winstrol are the equivalent reasons people take any quite steroid.

They take Winstrol 100mg  to . . .

Build muscle

Lose fat

Get stronger

There are many anabolic steroids which will do that , though, so what makes Winstrol special?

Why do numerous athletes take this drug rather than something like testosterone or trenbolone?
